Thanks Phoebe. I was going to "like" your post, but somehow liking just doesn't quite seem right. I want to thank you for your courage, and for the courage to write.
Thanks Miranda. I do hope you try writing your future. I'd love to know how it goes, although it takes time of course to see how it impacts your life. 💜
I feel similarly. After taking a little time to find my voice, I have written three books and noticed that the reason behind writing each of them was to reflect on what life has taught me so far ☺️
You touched my heart and read my private journal, Phoebe! How'd you do that!? 🤗
I've been reading and commenting for two weeks now after my pub laid in wait here for a year. What amazes me is how many Substackers are speaking directly to me and hit the target. 🎯
Donna, this makes me so happy to hear. I have had the same experience here. After a lifetime of not always fitting in, I feel I am finding true kindred spirits here on Substack. We don't always believe the same things, but still there are creative heart connections. Thank you 💜
I love the idea of the painted picture. This is also an exercise titled Best Life Journaling which is similar to Artists Way but you write for 2 weeks for 15 days and you pick a point in the future and describe in detail what that life looks like. How do you feel, how are you spending your time, what your days look like. There are NO LIMITS. Let imagination run wild. You then start to see patterns of what really resonates. It's a guide to determine what you really want out of life that we all many times bury because we go through the motions and do what we "should" do. I'm so glad you are writing!!
Thanks, Katherine. Best Life Journaling sounds like a great variation on the painted picture. Writing every day for two weeks would take you deeper into fully feeling your desired future. Also, I think that our initial idea of what we think we want is often different to our deepest soul desires, so taking our time with this exercise would help us to really feel what resonates at a deeper level. 💛

And thanks for your your en-couragement, Ian.
I hear you. Thank you for sharing with honesty and details. The power of writing may sometimes go unnoticed, you show clearly the magic it may hold.
Thank you, Terje. 🧡
What an inspirational piece. Thank you. I will definitely try the ‘write your future’ exercise.

Writing has brought my inner out and brought the outer in. Writing is the conduit that connects my energy to the energy waiting for expression.
Wow, this is very insightful. I agree that writing does that. Thanks for sharing. 💜

Yes, writing does help us to reflect deeply on liife. I'm glad you've experienced this. Thanks for sharing. 🧡

Ooooh I am so excited to have found your work and I can't wait to sift through your pieces.
Thank you, Raine. I've just checked out your work too - and feel such a resonance. 💜
