Hi there, I'm Phoebe, the voice behind Life Writing Alchemy. My desire is to help you write (& rewrite) life in fresh and surprising ways. Writing can be a portal to discovery, healing, joy, connection and so much more.

My goal is to share stories, playful tools and write sparks to ignite your creative heart. Alchemise your PAST, savour your PRESENT and move joyfully into your FUTURE. Every life is rich with story and possibility, and that includes YOU. I'd love for you to discover the unique magnificence at the core of you - so that you can live your beautiful story, and sing your heart's true song.

Kintsugi & the Golden Quill

The logo of Life Writing Alchemy is a blue bowl, repaired with gold. This is the Japanese art of Kintsugi. Visible repairs make the object more beautiful than before, symbolising both fragility and strength.

Kintsugi is a metaphor for life alchemy, the transcendence of life's difficulties, not by avoidance, but by tending with love and beauty. Here, this tending is done with a golden quill, symbol of writing. The feather also represents flight and freedom, with hints of magic. Life writing is sacred work. Anchor your joys, glean wisdom from your struggles and transform it all into a life of happy wholeness. Easier said than done? Of course. But worth it, don't you think?  

I have a sticker in my office that says: Authors nourish places hot chocolate can’t reach. That captures my purpose in creating Life Writing Alchemy; to nourish you deeply, not just by my words, but through inspiring you to bring forth your own beautiful words. My aim is to share tools and tales that will lead you on diverse journeys of discovery and delight. I hope you enjoy exploring what I have to offer and that you find both inspiration and practical help. I hope you experience Life Writing Alchemy as a playground of imagination, a nourishing feast, a sanctuary of sanity and insanity, a space where you feel thoroughly at home as you're bounced off your comfy couch... to land softly upon deeper and deeper possibility.

Why me?

Who am I to be your guide into realms of life-writing magic? Well, over the years I've worn many hats: student, researcher, middle school teacher, writer, mother, home-school parent, quester, jester, dreamer... I have qualifications in education, counselling, and creative writing. More importantly though, my own struggles with finding authentic purpose and expression have ignited a passion to help others along this path.
